Keeping your air receivers safe

We assess, so we can protect.  It really is that simple.

Air receivers (or air compressors, air vessels and air tanks as they are often called) are used in a wide range of industries and can be found on farms, in garages, in tyre repair depots and anywhere that requires compressed air.

In most cases, an air receiver requires a thorough ‘out of service’ examination every 2 years, which involves preparing the vessel by safe isolation, draining it of air/pressure and removing the inspection openings and protective devices for internal inspection and testing. It’s then reassembled and pressurised, and an ‘in-service’ examination take place.

Your air receivers fall under the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000 (PSSR).  This legislation makes it essential for safe operating limits to be identified by a competent person and the whole system to be inspected in accordance with its ‘Written Scheme of Examination’ which is drawn up following an initial risk assessment.

At Vulcan Inspection Services, we take risk seriously, very seriously.  We pride ourselves on being where we’re needed, when we’re needed. That’s just our thing.  If that means working with you to manage your air receivers, we’d love to help.  Just get in touch with our team and we’ll get started.
